Error Codes

The following list describes all of the HTTP data exception (400 – Bad Request) codes that can return from API calls to the Primal data service, along with what you should do to avoid them.

Code Description Action
1000 The credentials provided do not give you access to the URI specified. Provide valid authentication for the user interest graph you are trying to access.
1001 The object expressed in the request was not found in the system. Specify an existing object.
1002 You cannot make a direct self-reference to data source in your source. Refer to a different data source.
1003 The specified status could not be reached for the topic expressed within the time limit. Increase the time limit, or specify ‘max’.
1004 You cannot assign a prefix or time restriction to a referenced custom source. Prefix and time restrictions can only be used with Primal data sources.
1005 The ‘timeOut’ parameter must be an integer between minand max (inclusive) representing the seconds to wait. The term ‘max’ is also accepted. Specify a number of seconds between 0 and 120.
1006 The request payload was missing. Expected JSON in the format format. Ensure you include a payload that is formatted in JSON.
1007 The request payload was not JSON. Expected JSON in the format format. Ensure you include a payload that is formatted in JSON.
1008 The request payload was incorrect. Expected JSON which satisfies: rule. Ensure you include a payload that is formatted in JSON.
1009 Content association is currently only supported for @object. Specify a valid object.
1010 The content source provided was not valid for @ident. Provide a valid content source.
1011 Invalid query query specified: you tried to pass in empty strings where words are expected (e.g., pattern) Ensure that you are passing words, not empty strings.
1012 Invalid query ‘{query}’ specified: you have a colon after a semicolon/comma (e.g., ‘A;B:C’, should be ‘A:B;C’ or ‘A:B,C’) Refer to API documentation for more information.
1013 Invalid query ‘{query}’ specified: you have semicolons/commas without a colon (e.g., ‘A;B;C’, should be ‘A:B;C’)”) Refer to API documentation for more information.
1014 Invalid string representation: we do not support complex formats (e.g., /A/B;C/D or /A;B;C), only simple (e.g., /A, /A/B, /A/B;C)”) Refer to API documentation for more information.
1015 Invalid string representation: no query was specified. Ensure that you have built your query URL correctly.
1016 Unsupported parameters (params) were used on the request. Ensure that all parameters that you use are supported.
1017 The ident expressed in the request was not recognized. Ensure you have passed the correct object name in your request.
1018 You have not yet set up a custom data source. Please see the documentation for information on how to do so. Create a default custom data source.
1019 The ident expressed in the request already exists. Ensure that you are not creating an object that already exists.
1020 The ‘contentSource’ parameter must refer to an existing content source. Ensure that you are referring to an existing content source.
1021 The paramName parameter is not constructed properly. Please see the documentation for information on how to use this parameter. Refer to API documentation for information on supported features.
1022 The site site did not respond to our requests. Ensure that the site you specified is correct, and try again later.
1501 method request made to url for format format. Not implemented. Refer to API documentation for information on supported features.
